During my Digital Imaging class I created these three main works. The process for each involved a lot of research and planning. I gained numerous skills over the course of the subject and further developed them through weekly photoshopping endeavours. The subject also taught me the most effective use of Photoshop, as I had used it before but never while giving as much thought to the outcome of my work. I mastered non-destructive editing wherein none of the image elements that I sourced into my work were fully destroyed and could be recovered easily. I enjoyed working on each piece as all three required different parts of my creative capabilities in order to develop an end product that I was happy with.

While studying the design and impact of modern society’s culture of remixing and reusing in the subject “Remix Cultures” I developed this trailer as my final piece. The trailer is designed as a retelling of the TV show Game of Thrones. The genre of the show is shifted to become a science-fiction show in the style of such movies as Star Trek and Oblivion. I sourced clips from both Game of Thrones and numerous science-fiction movies and shows and edited them using Adobe Premiere. Although a lot of thought was given to the editing of the video, the main focus of the project was to analyse the way in which we can draw from previous works to create new and original work.
